Geneva, July 26, 2005 JOURNALISTIC AMALGAMATION BETWEEN COFIGEN SA GENEVA & SILVIO BERLUSCONI Several times in the national and international press as well as in web search engines, our company is mentioned as part of the constellation of investment companies of the BERLUSCONI GROUP. This information illustrates well the danger of the web search engines which certain journalists trust without checking their reliability. 1. The company that belonged to the Berlusconi group and which was involved with tax avoidance accusations during the years 1972 to 1974 is not COFIGEN S.A. Geneva, but the company COFIGE HOLDING S.A. created in 1962, with headquarters first in Lugano, Switzerland (canton of Tessin) then in Mendrisio (also in the canton of Tessin). This company was liquidated and closed on September 13, 1983. 2. Well after the 1972 to 1974 events, our company COFIGEN S.A. (“Compagnie Financière Genevoise”) was created in Geneva on April 30, 1987.
